The quality and professionalism of Khaya Project staff are essential to the success of our community based mental healthcare and rehabilitation services in the East and South East London.

Khaya Project's home managers and deputies are appointed for their knowledge and experience of working with service users with challenging and complex mental health needs.  Our staff is trained to either graduate level or have attained at least a Diploma (NVQ) Level 4/5 level in, typically, Health & Social Care, forensic psychology, psychiatric nursing, social work, forensic social work or substance misuse counselling. Our home managers also demonstrate the ability to lead and support staff and to act as ambassadors for Khaya Project in the community local to their home. All support staff are trained to Diploma (NVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care and our mental healthcare professionals receive extensive and ongoing clinical and therapeutic training, with Continuous Personal Development (CDP) plans in place to provide structured career pathways. Our on-going investment in training contributes to high levels of staff retention. This continuity supports the rehabilitation, recovery and reduced readmissions we achieve for our service users.
